1. Install Mods to Minecraft using Forge Installer

It is a free add-on for the Java edition of Minecraft available on the internet. 

Note: If you use Windows-10 exclusive Minecraft edition, this Forge installer will not work.

• Click here to Download the latest build for the player’s version of Minecraft. To stay on asafer side, always download the recommended installer.
• After downloading, run the installer. Linux users need to run the .jar file manually, with a command like java -jar < installerName> (We don’t need to tell Linux users in detail, they already know it. That’s why they are using linux hahaha!).
• “Mod System Installer” will open. Check the “Install Client” box.
• (Optional) If you player want to choose a different place rather than the original game folder to install the mod, click on the 3 dots “…” next to the box saying the file path of the default install directory (.minecraft folder) then navigate to the folder you want to install the mod into.
• Click install and wait till it gets completed.
• Open your Minecraft Launcher and select “forge” profile and enjoy your moded version Minecraft.
• Make a note that there should be NO other mods in the folder for other versions of Forge otherwise your game won’t load.
• If a mod is not installing, make sure that it is compatible with your versions of Forge and Minecraft and sometimes one also prevents the installation and working of other mods so have a check on that too.

How to Install Minecraft Mod using Twitch

Using twitch launcher is also a very easy way of installing Minecraft mods.

• Click here to get the suitable version of Twitch client.
• Log in to your Twitch account or create on if you don’t have one already.
• After you log in, go to the top bar and click on “mods” and select Minecraft.
• Create a new profile with your desired version and click on “Get more content” and get your mods downloaded.

Install Mincraft Mods on older version ( before 1.6)

• Open “RUN” by press “WIN + R”.
• Type “%appdata%.minecraft”.
• Open bin and Minecraft.jar will start to display.

• Some mods might need to copy the files into some other folders. Read the description downloaded with the mod to successfully do it.

Install Minecraft Mods on Mac OS:

1. • Open terminal by going to Application>Utilities
   • Type the following lines

cd ~

mkdir mctmp

cd mctmp

jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar

• • Create a new folder and name it “mctmp”.
  • Copy all the files and folders into this folder.
  • Then type the following things in the terminal line by line.

rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.*

jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./

cd ..

rm -rf mctmp

LINUX:

1. From ‘Nautilus’ press ctrl+H to make the hidden folders visible then navigate to .minecraft.
2. In console, type, ls -a ~/ and you’ll see the .minecraft directory.
3. Go to the bin folder.
4. Open the .jar file.
5. Copy the class files into bin and exit it after the copying of files is done.
6. Some mods might need to copy the files into some other folders. Read the description downloaded with the mod to successfully do it.
