Miguel at Limelight (Show Review)
Above his performance, live band, and stage attire is the surprising light show that set the night over the top. His new album Kaleidoscope Dream was manifested by an array of lasers too grand for the likes of Limelight but they undeniably supported his performance style. There were moments when he was a mere shadow on stage floating around, which happened to be some of my favorite segments because I no longer felt I was in a night club, especially Limelight. By the end of the show, it was obvious the future of R&B had blessed the stage so the line to meet him in the dressing room was out of control, as expected. I ran into a friend who was able to meet Miguel and she nearly fainted after she fought through the fiasco. She stared into my eyes and was able to muster up enough strength to say “I love him.”
If ever given the chance to see Miguel perform live, I strongly suggest it. This time next year he might be selling out arenas while headlining his own tour but there is nothing better than seeing an artist perform in a night club on the cusp of stardom.
