Premiere: CLOUDEATER – Blurry Wisdom (Video)
Today we bring you a video premiere from Atlanta-based CLOUDEATER for their track “Blurry Wisdom” off their 2011 release Sun and Sidearm. The track is a beautifully contradicting piece of a dark undertone, yet a smooth sweet sound rounded out by vocal harmonies. We find the visuals paired with the track to be a perfect match for the mental imagery our mildly active minds conjured before seeing the video – black and white vintage footage cultivating a dreamy-psych mood.
CLOUDEATER have a diverse sound, influenced by some of the most creative, envelope pushing bands of recent, and not so recent years. The band recently collaborated with D.C.-based hip hop artist Wale on the track “Faces”, which premiered on Jay-z’s “Life + Times” lifestyle website. Hitting the road hard this fall with dates in the southeast, including opening for Dam Funk next Tuesday at Terminal West in Atlanta. Other stops this fall include Brooklyn, Washington D.C., Charlotte, Savannah, Greenville, SC and hometown ATL shows, with additional dates to be announced; we’re hoping for a Nashville date sooner vs. later.
A new EP is in the works for early 2013, mixed by legendary Prefuse 73. The material produced, and acclaim received in the short time since emerging 2009, are more than impressive, having opened for acts such as N.E.R.D, Girl Talk and Little Dragon. Get familiar, as these guys are blazing a trail that we’re excited to follow.
