Monophonics – “There’s A Riot Going On” (Video), Performing at Exit/In this Thursday (5/24) (Event)

San Francisco based funkers, Monophonics, just dropped a new video for the single, “There’s A Riot Going On”, off their most recent studio endeavour entitled “In Your Brain”.

The Tylor Bohlman/Third Street Works directed visual provides a tripped out “modernized retro” vibe that lends itself very well to the fuzz/funk psychedelia and imagery of 60s/70s style protests that the track conjures up. All the while still embodying a sort of free spirit and fun loving nature. Excellent video and a killer jam! Props to Intrepid Artists for reppin’!!

The new record from San Francisco based band Monophonics entitled “In Your Brain” sits on the fuzzy psych side of soul and funk. Paying homage to innovators of psychedelic soul such as Sly Stone, Norman Whitfield and Funkedelic’s George Clinton the 6 piece outfit displays their ability to put a moody stamp on each composition whether its an original or cover.
