In this feature length documentary, award winning photojournalist and director Ray Zate brings you the story of artists Stix Izza and Fate Eastwood as they embark on their first collaborative album. A story that is more than music, as told by the duo and their close friends, in their own words, it is a story about overcoming adversity, and the power of friendship, family, brotherhood, and chasing dreams. A journey that has them on a path, Building The Highway 2 Mars.

Ray Zate has worked in the media industry for 10+ years, having covered stories that range from Nashville’s entertainment and social scene to in-depth stories on illegal immigration on the US -Mexico border, Poverty in Kentucky’s Appalachian Mountains, both of which earned him a Mid-South Emmy Nomination. Zate recently worked in Atlanta, Ga. where he was on air reporter covering daily news, in February he decided to come back to his adopted home of Nashville. Already a well seasoned photojournalist, Zate set his eyes on the silver screen, “Building the Highway 2 Mars [the film] has been something I wanted to do for a long time, I knew this group had a unique story and I wanted to tell it. With Stix and Fate in the studio working on an incredible album, and after hearing the title track, I knew this was the time to tell that story. I am excited for the film and look forward to sharing this story with all who wants to watch,” said Zate. The film is set to debut in Nashville in late May, in a theater near you.
